Aloha has won the headline race of the day at Rosehill, taking out the Group 1 Coolmore Classic in Race 7 today.

The Encosta De Lago four-year-old won the $600,000 Coolmore Classic by an astonishing two and a half lengths ahead of Jersey Lily.

Glen Boss, who rode Aloha to her stellar victory, picked up his second Group 1 win of the day after he also won the 2011 Ranvet Stakes aboard $101 roughie Zavite.

Aloha had a lightning beginning to the 2011 Coolmore Classic, bursting from the gates to settle in a prime position in the opening stages of the race.

Down the home straight Aloha stepped it up a gear and put an incredible distance on the remainder of the field.

Third place went to Gerald Ryan’s Melito, while Happy Hippy was forced to settle with fourth placing.
