Omei Sword remains a clear $4.40 favourite in the lucrative Enhanced Odds betting market at Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Dixie Blossoms ($8) and Global Glamour ($11).

Will Omei Sword justify favouritism and win the 2017 Coolmore Classic, or will one of her rivals post an upset?

1st

Omei Sword ($4.40)

Omei Sword has been charged with overcoming the outside barrier, but is more than worth consideration for a bet at her current Coolmore Classic odds and should still just win the race. Resuming in spring for a dominant win in the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m), the High Chaparral filly was forced back to the paddock with injury after she ran second in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m). Having run on well for second in the Group 2 Surround Stakes (1400m) first-up, Omei Sword will relish a step up in distance, has been charged with carrying only 52.5kgs and will be partnered by in-form hoop Brenton Avdulla.

2nd

Abbey Marie ($26)

Abbey Marie has built to the task ahead of Saturday’s Rosehill feature and is undoubtedly over the 2017 Coolmore Classic odds at $26 to win, or $6.10 to finish in the first three. Abbey Marie won a pair of Victorian minors over 1300m and 1440m respectively upon debuting last autumn, before storming home to win the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m). Clearly requiring a run when eighth in the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) first-up, the daughter of Redoute’s Choice worked to the line well for fourth in the Group 3 Mannerism Stakes (1400m) a fortnight ago and will relish a step up in distance.

3rd

Global Glamour ($11)

Multiple Group 1 winner Global Glamour has returned to racing in terrific form this time and is a leading chance of a first three finish in the Coolmore Classic. Taking out each of the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) and Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) in spring, Global Glamour resumed from a freshen-up for ninth in the Listed Nudgee Quality (1200m), before charging home to finish second in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) on January 14th. Having since won the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) and finished third in the Surround Stakes, Global Glamour is primed for another strong performance on Saturday.
